Just a little something in my eye

It's a wonderful thing to think that something you've written has an effect on the reader. When you pluck a story out of your head and invent characters to tell it, at the very least you hope the reader will want to find out what happens. So when you discover that a reader has fallen into a story so completely that it has a profound impact on them, it's quite emotional.
