Proofreeding.

I have never counted how many times I've read my book. In truth - from start to finish - not many. But every time I sit down to write, I read the last paragraph or page or chapter. And as I'm writing, I'm constantly going back and re-reading it, or dipping into another chapter to check I'm being consistent. So, I've read it all many times, just not necessarily in the right order (thank you Eric).

So how did such glaring errors slip through? Typos that, as soon as someone points them out are impossible not to see. Slip ups in dates that make the whole story impossible. The ever-patient proofreader spots all these things and politely points them out, I'm quite sure wondering how such a thicky could ever write a book. Thank you Sam Fletcher and the Mantle proofreaders. I don't know what Id do without you.
