The Proof

A couple of copies of my new book arrived today. These are proofs. They are part of a very small print run and are used by the publicity team to send to other authors and readers in the hope of receiving a good review. That review can then be printed on the cover of the final version of the book when it's launched. It's also a good opportunity to see if there are any errors or problems with the book.

It's a brilliant thing to receive and I was chuffed to bits to open mine. There is, and probably always will be something very strange about having written a book. An actual book that will be picked up by people in a bookshop, that will be chosen to take on holiday, that will sit on a bedside table.

Now we must wait and see if the reviews will be good enough to print...
